Darlene PostA Message from Mayor Darlene J. Conti

August, 2015 — Mid-Year Message

As I enjoy the Concerts in the park, I realize how fortunate we are. We’ve had many upgrades to our parks—handicap accessible play equipment, newly reconstructed ball fields, tennis court upgrades, bike paths and fencing just to name a few. We will continue to upgrade and maintain our parks with an emphasis on safety and security by utilizing the open space funding which is available to us from the County and our local open space fund. You may have even noticed that the Tank in Wilmore Memorial Park has been restored to its appropriate color and will soon have beautiful fencing around it as well as a plaque describing the Tank’s history. A rededication ceremony of the Tank is planned for November. If you or someone you know is a veteran, please contact me as I would be honored to have them participate in the rededication.

Today's news:

Little Falls Emergency Management reminds us that September is National Preparedness Month.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community. More...
