County of Passaic Fair Housing Notice

Passaic County has established a Fair Housing Program and has appointed a Fair Housing Officer. Any person desiring information concerning fair housing or persons, who believe they have been discriminated against in any housing related matter, may contact the program for counseling and referral to state and federal enforcement agencies. County Clerk Expands Outreach Sites and Services

The Passaic County Clerk, Kristin M. Corrado, Esq. is pleased to announce our Outreach schedule for the month of June, 2013. As a service to Passaic County residents, the County Clerk’s Office schedules Saturday and evening hours to conduct business in municipalities throughout Passaic County. During the Outreach times, we process Passports and Notary Oaths.

Veteran’s Identification Cards

The Passaic County Clerk’s Office and Department of Veterans’ Affairs are pleased to announce the June schedule for Veterans Identification Cards. The Clerk’s Office and Veterans’ Affairs have partnered to provide Passaic County Veterans with a free Photo ID Card. These cards identify Veterans who served in our armed forces and received an honorable discharge following their military service. The ID cards give Veterans the ability to receive discounts or benefits offered by many local stores and restaurants.

In order to obtain an identification card, a Veteran will need to present a copy of their DD-214 Military Discharge Record along with proof of identity and domicile in Passaic County. A copy of the DD-214 (discharge papers) must be registered with the Passaic County Clerk’s Office.

Residents Encouraged to Share Their Vision for Little Falls

The Township of Little Falls is in the process of completing a Re-examination of the Master Plan to update the goals, objectives and vision for the Township for the years to come. Resident feedback is encouraged and welcome as we go through this process. Please download and complete the Visioning Questionnaire (and encourage your family and neighbors to do so as well) and submit via mail, email or in person at Town Hall. Your answers will help us begin the Township Master Plan process. Please answer the questions in the PDF and mail or drop off your completed questionnaire to the attention of the Township Administrator in the Township of Little Falls, NJ, 225 Main Street Little Falls, NJ 07424. Filing Deadline extended to September 16, 2013
Senior Citizen/Disabled Person Freeze Program — blue booklet

The application filing deadline filing for the 2012 New Jersey Property Tax Reimbursement a/k/a “The Freeze Program” for Senior Citizens or Disabled Persons was extended from June 3, 2013 to September 16, 2013.

Application booklets for first-time filers (PTR-1) are available to the public in the Tax Collector’s office.

EZ Ride volunteer drivers are a vital link to work and daily activities for older adults and people with limited mobility. Health Department Offers Low Cost Cancer Screening

The Clifton Health Department is sponsoring a low cost Women’s Cancer Screening from 8:30 am to 10:30 am Friday, June 21st at Clifton City Hall, 900 Clifton Avenue, 2nd Floor. The screening includes pap test, pelvic exam, physical breast exam, and blood pressure test for a fee of $15.00. Colorectal cancer screening testing kits will be available for $10.00. Referrals for lower cost mammography are available upon request. Mammograms are not done on site. Dawn Ammirata, Advance Practical Nurse, is attending the women’s cancer screening clinic. More...

Summer Camp Program Extended

The 2013 Little Falls Department of Recreation Summer Camp program will be expanded for this upcoming year. One additional week of camp will be held at the recreation center, and will be led by New Jersey All People Equal (www.NJAPE.org) a premiere recreation, physical education, fitness and wellness organization that adopts and promotes inclusive approaches so to ensure that all individuals can achieve. This camp for the whole community, and is designed to create meaningful interactions between children with and without special needs. More...
